TMM was created as form of self expression and a place for me to share my vulnerable thoughts, experiences, and commentary. As a culture, most of us haven’t felt empowered to share our ups and downs, even with close friends or family — which makes it impossible to learn how to navigate life stages and events. Starting Little Brown Diary was my first lesson in understanding how our community of millennial women needed more spaces to feel seen, relate, and learn. Slowly after tackling podcast topics like dealing with cystic acne, my gut health journey, body image issues, and navigating relationships, the flood gate of messages came in from so many women who felt the same.

We're all dealing with the same things,

why not have some fun and do it together?

Arpita has been raised in Mumbai and New Jersey, and is equally a SoBo NRI as much as a proud Jersey girl. When she’s not podcasting, she’s working as a creative brand strategist for beauty and fashion brands. Her work experience spans tech platforms and publishers including Snapchat, TikTok, theSkimm, and POPSUGAR.

Arpita is also the founder of Little Brown Diary, a Facebook community she started in November 2018 for South Asian millennial women to connect and network. She has since moved on from moderating the community, which consists of 40K+ members and 50+ sub-groups.

She’s passionate about beauty, baked goods, Beyoncé, Bollywood, & all things pop culture.
Above all, she’s most proud to be a daughter to immigrant parents, wife, elder sister, and holds family & friends as one of her core values.
